c.1949 Marx Mechanical Roadster In Original Box
Sleek torpedo-shaped tin litho wind-up "Mechanical Roadster" convertible by Marx. Beautifully designed with unusual lime-green colored body. Includes original text-only box. The Roadster has two doors with the Marx logo on the passenger side. The body is colored lime green highlighted with black, white, and gray striping. It has a twin bench interior with divider between the front and rear seats, a clear plastic steering wheel, and lithoed dashboard. The windshield is an early split front style made of transparent polystyrene plastic. The underside chassis was painted silver. Tires are solid black rubber. The box identifies the toy simply as "Mechanical Roadster". The toy name, plus manufacturer name and address were printed on every panel and end flap. Best of all it works great!
